Stop the Threat of Closure of Armstrong Elementary
In 2022, Diamond Point was closed, and in 2025 Armstrong Elementary was under threat of closure, but our powerful little community stopped it. This raises serious concerns about the accountability regarding the nearly $1 billion worth of bonds approved by taxpayers to improve our schools—not shut them down. Where is that money going? Armstrong was overlooked for capital improvements, and now we’re demanding answers.
At the same time, major financial entities are acquiring land and assets from public institutions, turning educational spaces into profit-driven real estate ventures. We refuse to allow private interests to profit off our children’s futures.
This appears to be a calculated effort to destabilize public education, using school closures as a means to convert taxpayer-funded property into lucrative development projects. The same corporate strategies that have been used to buy out housing and retail spaces are now being implemented in our schools, leaving the public in the dark.
We demand answers from the school district:
✅ Full transparency regarding the allocation of the $1 Billion of bond measures and an explanation of why Armstrong received little to no funding.
✅ A moratorium on further school closures until community input is prioritized in decision-making.
✅ An investigation into financial entities acquiring closed school properties across the region.
This issue goes beyond Armstrong—it highlights a systematic dismantling of public education that benefits corporate real estate investors at the expense of students, families, and communities.
We urge the community to investigate and expose this quiet corporate takeover of public education before another school is lost to financial interests.
This is unacceptable.
